Staking guide

What should you understand before staking from a self-custody wallet?

Understand the provider, transaction and exit conditions—not only the displayed rate. NordBalticum can prepare supported staking flows while you authorize the wallet transaction; the validator, protocol or partner provides the staking service under its own terms.

  • Third-party providers
  • Rates are not guaranteed
  • Network and protocol risk apply
01

Provider role is explicit

NordBalticum is the wallet interface; supported validators or protocols deliver the staking service.

02

You authorize the transaction

The wallet presents the action and its known details before signing and broadcast.

03

Exit rules matter

Activation, lock-up, cooldown, liquidity and withdrawal behavior differ by network and product.

A rate is not the product description

Displayed annualized rates can change and are not guaranteed. Rewards depend on network issuance, validator or protocol performance, fees, participation and other conditions.

Read the provider information, transaction structure and unstaking or withdrawal route. If a liquid staking token is involved, also consider smart-contract, liquidity and price-deviation risk.

What NordBalticum does in the flow

NordBalticum can fetch supported provider information, prepare the intended staking transaction and verify that returned transaction data matches the authorized action before broadcast.

The wallet does not become the staking counterparty. Provider availability, terms and supported networks may change.

Provider-led staking, wallet-controlled authorization

The experience separates the wallet's role from the service provider's role and keeps the transaction decision with you.

Practical flow

    Review provider and product

Understand who provides the service, the asset involved and how rewards and fees work.

  2. 2

    Review transaction and exit

Check amount, destination, network, liquidity and unstaking conditions.

  3. 3

    Authorize only when understood

Complete the protected wallet confirmation and monitor the resulting position.

Security, in plain English

Controls with defined responsibilities

Provider allow-listing

Supported integrations use reviewed provider configuration rather than arbitrary user-supplied endpoints.

Transaction intent checks

Prepared transaction data is checked against the staking action being authorized.

Sensitive-route protection

Prepare, authorize, cancel and broadcast operations remain behind the central security boundary.
